Desigual was founded by Thomas Meyer in 1984 in Spain. Meyer had previously caught attention from the design world with his Iconic Jacket, which is considered to be one of the first examples of upcycle fashion. Desigual’s slogan of “dressing people, not bodies” marked the brand’s vision of offering outfits for everyone from the beginning.

In 1986 the first Desigual store opened in the bay area of Ibiza. Desigual reached the British market in 1998, and the company quickly became synonymous with quality and style in the country.

In 2011 the Desigual Kiss Tour made London one of its official stops.

Desigual renewed its image in 2019, revealing a new logo with an inverted S in it.

Desigual designs and manufactures its own articles. Some of its more famous collections are Real Life, Magic Stories, Luxury Feelings, We are Animals, El Know, La Difference, Rainbow, All Together, Wow, Better&Better and Me&You.

Desigual has also collaborated with well recognized artists and models, like Miranda Makaroff, Okuda San Miguel, María Escote, Jordi Molla, Najwa Nimri, Winnie Harlow and Marie Victoire Tiangue.
