When was DESIGNERS GUILD created?

Robin and Tricia Guild opened the Designers Guild in 1970 in London. The company launched its first collection that same year, named the Village collection. The next year Designers Guild opened its King’s Road store.

In 1973 Designers Guild’s products were featured in Design Council’s 300th magazine.

Designers Guild became a participant at the Biennale des Editeurs de la Décoration in Paris in 1976, and returned every year after that until 1990.

During the 80s Tricia Guild published her first four design books and joined the selection committee for the Crafts Council Craft Fair.

Designers Guild was given the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1991 and 1996.

In 1993 Designers Guild opened a new office and showroom in France. The company became the official licensee for Ralph Lauren Fabric and Wallpaper in Europe and the Middle East.

Designers Guild launched its online shop in 2008.

In 2020 Designers Guild published the Out of the Blue collection, accompanied by an exhibition of the same name at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London.
