LEGO: Top 5 UK Icons That You Can Build in Family

Doing activities as a family is really fun. And building with LEGO is one of the great traditions in the world. In fact, the firm launched a few years ago landmark sets with replicas of the most characteristic architecture of the United Kingdom.

LEGO is one of the most iconic brands of bricks and has crossed countless generations. Take advantage of the LEGO discount flyers and take home a set at truly insane prices.

On November 17, 2016, the world's largest LEGO store opened in London. It is 914 m², spread over two floors of pure fun. To get an idea of the grandeur of this store, right in the store window is a replica of the Big Ben clock tower, more than 6 meters high and made with 200,000 blocks. The clock really works and lights up at night.

On the second floor, the highlight is the London Underground. There is a carriage assembled from LEGO pieces featuring Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth, one of the Queen's famous guards in a black hat, and a map of the London Underground lines. Next to the carriage, a store clerk hands out a LEGO passport and puts stamps on the spot.

Up the stairs, there's a beautiful wall made of Lego with a map of the city of London. The second floor is super interactive, with a wall of Lego blocks to choose from and areas where you can use the blocks to play to your heart's content. Plus, there's a huge, full-size red phone booth. A total joy not only for the kids but for the adults as well.

It is difficult to choose top 5 UK icons that you can build in family, but we suggest the following: Parliament, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. As a bonus you can add the characteristic red double-decker bus and the telephone booth.

This launch coincides with the 100th anniversary of the K2 phone booth, the inspiration for the design of the new set, which recreates the red and black structure, emblematic of London.

The set, ideal for display, includes details such as a functional door, a luminous brick in the ceiling that illuminates the booth when the top is pressed, and a lamp post surrounded by flower pots on a cobblestone street.

It was designed by John Cramp of Leicester, England, under the LEGO Ideas program, which allows fans to propose and vote for designs to be turned into actual sets. This model incorporates an ingenious cell phone holder. Despite the rapid evolution of communications, the iconic K2 remains part of communities throughout the scheme.
